This picture reminds me of the quote : In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary by Aaron Rose. I got a new AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens yesterday. I had been holding off, saving up, waiting... and since the beginning of the year, lens prices have gone up! So much for the waiting :o) I went for it, and subsequently crossed a number off my 2009 list. In my pre-purchase research, I learned that this lens is great for portrait shots, flattering facial features, low-light shots, and twinkly bokeh. It is also very reasonably priced (yes!).
I'm figuring things out as I go along. I can't wait to keep seeing & snapping (♥). My two favorite photography learning resources are Posie Gets Cozy and Pioneer Woman Photography. And Amy! On Monday we went for a little drive to a beautiful farm blanketed island. A perfect opportunity to test the new lens out :o) Please read Amy's wonderful May 27th blog entry to see more pictures from yesterday... she is truly the bomb photographer, so please don't pass up the opportunity.
I would like to have sheep in my back yard some day. They seem so gentle and soft. Then I could make my own feta cheese and spin wool. That would be nice :o)
All of that adventuring had us hungry (naturally)! Nothing like an evening cheese platter (dill bread, havarti, gouda, red onions, apples, pickles, salami, and brown mustard. What is it with me & cheese lately? Induced by Saturday's eggplant rigatoni (& mozzarella ) I think. I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend. The week is flying by... it's Wednesday & bedtime!
Find something extraordinary today. xox.
